So joblo.com had an interesting article:
http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/cmon-hollywood-its-time-for-a-proper-female-superhero-film
With the exception of Wonder Woman, most all other female super heroes are based off of a male counterpart: Supergirl, Batgirl, She Hulk. Hell, even Catwoman is a spin off of Batman. Now granted, they're all great characters but it feels that a woman with the big Superman "S" on her chest is merely following, not leading.
My answer to joblo.com's question: MORGALLA.
Why? Why not. She's not following in any one's footsteps.
Morgalla "turns 18" this year. I created her in 1995 and since 2000 I've grown the character. It was more of a hobby back then. But the fact that she is demon, female, young...all of that is secondary. First rule of making a character: make them interesting. I hope I succeeded.
So when it comes to joblo's article, I might point out that for every one Ironman, there is a Ghost Rider, Green Lantern, Spider-Man 3, Batman & Robin, etc.
For every good movie, there is a shitty one. One should hope first and foremost for a GOOD film.

Man of Steel vs. Iron Man 3
It seems to me that the big showdown of the nerd movies this year is Man of Steel vs Iron Man 3. Now after the disappointment with The Dark Knight Rises and the first trailer of Superman kinda leaving a bad taste in every one's mouth, it seemed like Stark's third outing was going to be a sure-thing. It also helps that Marvel has been on a roll over the past five years and still riding a freight train of awesome after The Avengers.
However, I need to mention a new article on joblo.com:
http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/scoop-early-screenings-of-man-of-steel-reveal-more-about-the-tone-action-and-superman-kicking-all-kinds-of-ass
It's encouraging, if it's real and I would say that Iron Man 3 has some major competition. I would have to mention the new IM3 trailer, too:
http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/trailer-for-iron-man-3
Again, I guess we'll have to wait and see just which is the better film. I would say that the geeks this year are going to be either very satisfied...or crushed. Just like last year with Batman not living up to the hype, at least we were all happy with Avengers.

Spidey 2 and Death Death Death
One reason why I didn't like the Amazing Spiderman (though it was better than Spiderman 3 and possibly 2) was the costume:
He looked like a Power Ranger and with all due respect to Andrew Garfield, he doesn't look like a superhero. I guess that's the point of Peter Parker but I don't take him seriously.
Well the new pic for Spidey 2 is out:
Speaking of Marvel, Joss Whedon stated what he's going to do with Avengers 2 and that's "Death death and more death".
Oh yay.
Now one reason why I stopped watching anything that has to do with Whedon is the fact that he not only kills off characters like it's a trend, but I think he actually LIKES doing it for some reason. If he owned the Avengers, actually created the characters, then he would have killed off at least a few of them.
Not saying that death can't be great drama, especially if one's characters face danger and evil all the time, but it just got annoying after a while. And when you actually expect it, then it's no longer shocking nor a surprise.
I hope he remembers that he DOES NOT own these characters.

Tony Stark's Dilema
The new Superbowl commercial for IronMan 3 shows people falling to their death and only Tony Stark can save them....at least four of them...out of thirteen. Quite the feat, for any superhero.
Which brings up an interesting dilema: What if he truly CAN'T save them all? That might be the focus of this scene and an important plot point. Though he ends up saving some, a few (possibly most) die and instead of being seen as a hero, he might be instead blamed by members of the press, the goverment and the public.
Sure, superheroes can do incredible things, but they can't do everything and though Tony is smart, I wonder just HOW is he going to save all of them? Maybe the film will be bold and not give the scene a happy ending like John McClain in Die Hard 2. An entire PLANE of people died despite him trying everything he could.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm still annoyed by the new armor, though.

J.J.
So the biggest news about Star Wars since Lucas sold it is that J.J. Abrams is directing Episode VII. Kinda weird because of the whole Star Trek thing but I think one of the factors in leading Disney to their decision might have been the trailer to Into Darkness.
J.J. NEEDS to do two things though for his film(s): Please, for the love of God stop shining the light in the camera and also stop SHAKING the damn camera!
Sorry, I hate shakey cam.
But like with most things artistic, we have to just wait and see. People were really excited that Star Wars was out of the hands of Lucas. Since the prequels, Star Wars can only go one direction: up.
